What is the difference between a virtual and physical card?

Virtual and physical prepaid cards are very similar, however there are a couple of key differences to be aware of as shown below. Both physical and virtual cards have pins which need to be used to spend. 

Virtual Card Physical Card
Instructions to claim sent via email to the cardholder Receives physical card in the most, usually directly the end recipient
Card details (long card number, expiry and CVV) accessed from within online account Card details accessed from the physical card
